'''Kin Selection''' is the [[Natural Selection|natural selection]] of shared genes in the genotype by altruistic behavior in the related phenotypes. Organisms tend to favor the reproductive success of their relatives, even at a cost to their own survival and/or reproduction, because they share genes with them, and therefore indirectly increase the reproductive success of their own genes.
