Self-Rejuvenation or Self-Renewal is a Self-* Property. It is related to self-regeneration and means that a system is able to rejuvenate and regenerate itself by replacing old parts with new ones. The major drawback of systems with self-regeneration or self-rejuvenation is related to cancer: such a system can obviously generate a new system which destroys the old one, especially if the rejuvenation or regeneration process is organic and associated with growth, see Rejuvenation and Cancer. Self-renewal is stem cells's most fundamental property and most dangerous property.
