Social network

A social network is a social structure made of nodes, agents or individuals which are connected by a specific type of relationship, such as friendship or kinship. In its simplest form, a social network is simply a set of specific links, such as friendships, between a set of social objects, i.e. persons. This set can be described as a graph or network.
