Causality means the cause of an event is observed before its effect is observed. Causality violation means that the cause of an event is observed after its effect is observed. Violation of causality are a problem in distributed systems and distributed algorithms, because causes and causal relations are essential to any scientific explanation. If the causal structure is unclear, it is hard to understand a system.
