Collaborative Computing is often used synonymously with computer supported cooperative work (CSCW). It is the discipline that deals with using computers to support groups of people as they cooperate to achieve their goals. The most famous examples for collaborative computing are collaborative encyclopedias and references like Wikipedia and smaller Wikis like this one. PlanetMath is a collaborative and collective math reference. Many Web 2.0 sites use a kind of collaborative computing, because they are usually collaborative social networking applications.
